I took these photos some years ago, thus the choice for the music. After often thinking as I drove so many times down Lullwater, in Druid Hills near the Emory campus, that I should preserve its loveliness I did put my camera in the car one glorious Saturday morning and stopped on my way from Grady to Egleston. I believe I captured a really commonplace vista of spring in that neighborhood of delightful homes in De Kalb County. The home below is just opposite Lullwater Creek pictured above.

If you find yourself imagining that you see Miss Daisy's car passing by it is because this is the neighborhood in which the cinema was filmed, the home chosen to represent her's is one street to the west and Little Five Points site of the Piggly Wiggly and all is just to the south, and on the route through Inman Park I traveled for many years daily between the two campuses ..... so long ago that the photos required really complicated restoration techniques.
The exuberance and abundance of a De Kalb County spring is characteristic of much of the deep South and the people of this area.
I have however since moving to the lake come to enjoy the spareness of the wild uncultivated and unforced gift of spring which permits the appreciation of the uniqueness of each blossom and bird and butterfly, more as I experienced nature as a young child in the drought blighted plains of Oklahoma. Very different and yet similar in that aspect.
Have a wonderful spring and come back soon to see what summer may bring. All things upon this earth are developing into new things ----- from which what is here must come what is to be -----This is the fulfillment of the promise of life -----
